TITLE:  Production Control Scheduler

 

Coordinate the activities of the Operations staff by developing and maintaining the daily, weekly and monthly schedules for the mainframe and client/server batch processing. Additional activities include assisting with EDI transaction interfaces to/from trading partners and assisting with various Help Desk activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Performs primary scheduling tasks which include:

 Work with Operations staff to develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly schedules for mainframe and client/server batch processing. Receive, log and schedule ad-hoc job requests On a daily basis, prepare the computer operations schedules that list all normal daily, weekly, monthly jobs, and on-request jobs. Provide additional scheduling support as ad-hoc requests arrive. Assist managers and supervisors in planning future changes in all Scheduling and Operations areas with the goal of a more efficient and effective operation. Monitor the processing of scheduled jobs to determine compliance with established schedule and performance of those jobs according to their scheduled time. Perform daily review of the computer operator check sheets of batch jobs and processes to ensure proper completion. Keep managers and supervisors advised of performance as related to the schedule. Escalate issues as they apply to the schedule. Develop and maintain scheduling documentation. Assist the EDI Coordinator with incoming and outgoing EDI transaction interfaces. Perform scripting tasks related to EDI process set-ups as required/requested. Assist Help Desk / Technical Services staff with PC, server, local area network and phone system related activities. Other duties as assigned. Represents NWA in a professional and businesslike manner and communicates effectively with users, management and associates. Maintains and protects company assets and property. Maintains a high level of security and complies with the guidelines established in the NWA and WCTPT Security Manuals and the NWA Policies and Procedures Manual.



REQUIREMENTS

 Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; have a minimum of 3 years experience in Technology oriented field, preferably in computer operations, batch job scheduling and/or Help Desk. Must possess good interpersonal skills to deal with associates and clients; possess good communication skills (written, oral and presentation); must be customer satisfaction oriented; and must be able to work independently.
