Professional Services Development Manager

Summary:

The Feedroom is looking for a Professional Services Development Manager.  As the Manager, you will work closely with the Product, Sales Engineering and Development teams. You will be responsible for delivering completed projects on time, on-spec and with first-rate quality. You will manage your team during the full lifecycle of projects from kick-off to deployment, while managing client expectations. A typical project will run between 20-45 days.

Responsibilities:

 

· Use OOP and design patterns to build and customize web-based multi-tier applications

· Manage the work of other web developers

· Participate in all parts of software development cycle

· Generate code according to specifications and business requirements

· Document and maintain technical specifications

· Fix bugs and unit test new code

 

Key Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

· 5 – 7 years of professional experience

· Proven technical leadership skills

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

· Strong web development skills on java platform, including jsps, servlets, filters, JMS, JMX, persistence and caching frameworks

· Understanding and knowledge of SQL, LDAP and Relational Databases

 

The following additional experience is highly desirable:

 

· Understanding of SOA and Web Services

· Experience with Windows Media, Flash Media and related streaming technologies

· Workflow automation around version control and release processes

· ActionScript 2/3

· XML/XSLTs

· Knowledge and understanding of LAMP technologies

· Knowledge of Python, Perl, Ruby, Ant and Unix shell scripting
