Program Director
The Program Director role within the Comcast Executive Program Management Office structure is responsible for all phases of multiple programs associated within a specific Strategic Business Initiative (SBI) up to and including the strategic planning, organizing, and implementing of the functional programs within the specific Strategic Business Initiative (SBI).
A program is defined as a deliverable that is comprised of multiple individual projects that could span all functional areas of the company as well as vendors (e.g. Engineering, CET, JV's, Care, Marketing, Legal, Public Relations, Field/Divisions, etc.)
In summary, the program director is responsible for monitoring what is happening across all programs that are part of the Strategic Business Initiatives (SBI) they are assigned to identify dependencies, risks and critical path with the explicit objective of ensuring all projects converge to meet the program scope, schedule and budget.
REPORTS TO: Strategic Business Initiative (SBI) Leader
RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Director
- Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards where applicable for the assigned business initiatives; interprets and complies overall program schedules.
- Will develop and establish the framework and analysis across multiple programs that make up each Strategic Business Initiative
- Lead the evaluation of the addition and/or deletion of initiatives
- Monitors and directs or performs day-to-day operations of the assigned program to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary.
- Develops and monitors the program's budget; oversees financial well-being of the program by analyzing cost effectiveness and exercising cost controls; prepares, submits and justifies budget enhancement requests to the Product Development/GM's
- Monitors and stays abreast of technological, legal and operational changes that affect the activities and work processes of the program; makes recommendations for and develops and carries out improvements to the program to meet changing mission parameters and requirements.
- Confers with and represents the program and the department in meetings with Business and Divisions; serves as the Corporate representative; fosters collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the program and with multiple Comcast departments
- Prioritizes and allocates available program resources; reviews and evaluates program and service delivery, makes recommendation for and executes changes where applicable to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Accountable to SBI Manager for program plan, schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements.
- Reviews/approves project plans for conformance to program strategy, plan and schedule.
- Acts as the communications conduit to SBI leader and associated business/ technology leaders by one-on-one meetings and conducting periodic briefings/status updates.
- Escalates issues requiring action or decisions to SBI leader and associated business/ technology leaders as necessary.
- Monitors, develops and directs deployment strategies across all assigned programs that overlay across the infrastructure for all markets in an agreed to priority order
This postion can be located in Philadelphia or NJ locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's
Degree, preferably in Business Operations, Engineering, or related work experience.
Advanced Degrees and Additional Training are beneficial.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 8 years demonstrated experience leading cross-functional/matrix organizations in the successful completion of assigned deliverables.
At least 5 years experience in a leadership position in a large complex, dynamic and technical environment.
Negotiations, Budgeting and Scheduling, Forecasting, Customer Relations/Interface, Strategic Alliances/Teaming, Business Planning/Strategies, risk management.
Familiarity with Comcast line of business technology and integrated systems a
