Programmer Analyst IV (Senior Software Engineer)

USC’s Department of Business Technology, Enrollment Services division, is seeking a Programmer Analyst IV (Senior Software Engineer) to join its team. Job Responsibilities: The holder of this position serves as a project leader for a large and complex system projects or as a specialist providing technical consulting on completes. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Prepares detailed specifications. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Establishes project plans and schedules, identifies staffing and resource requirement, and monitors progress providing status reports as required. Develops system definition, architecture and detailed needs analysis including hardware and software recommendations. Serves as primary liaison for functional users of supported systems. Communicates with users to extract and define functional needs. Converts user needs into system design specifications including screens, input methodology and data base structure. Oversees the design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation activities of project staff. Utilizes fourth generation languages in the development of computer systems. Additionally, the incumbent will have extensive experience with SQL, C++, JAVA, HTML, .net, Oracle, ASP and Microsoft Access. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with five years of relevant experience to provide strong technical knowledge of programming and analysis and senior or lead experience. Combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education. Preferred Qualifications: Seven years experience.
