Job DescriptionPosition Title: Senior Programmer/Analyst PCI ProgramPOSITION SUMMARYLocated in Pleasanton, CA, the Kaiser Permanente IT Department is looking for a Lead Programmer/Analyst who will be responsible for providing the Support and Development activities for the EPS (Electronic Payment System) Application. The EPS will be Kaisers centralized payment switch for processing all credit card transactions throughout the KP Environment.The Senior Programmer/Analyst for the KPIT organization will provide day-to-day technical support and maintenance of the EPS production system. The Senior PA will work under the direction of a team manager and/or lead to document requirements and design, customize, develop and test application modification to optimize the EPS Application. The Senior PA will be the primary support resource required to troubleshooting application and/or data issues when they arise.The Payment Card Compliance and Solutions Program is a strategic enterprise-wide initiative that will allow KP to continue to delight its members in the payments area, protect members payment card related financial data, and comply with applicable payment card regulations and industry directives.RESPONSIBILITIES Majority of time is divided between maintenance (responding to most client/user requests and issues), development (independent coding, installing upgrades), testing activities and guiding lower-level teammates. Troubleshoots technical problems and conducts analyses for efficient program/ application solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements. Provides input to estimate requirements for project plans. Day-to-day contact with some business clients and IT partners Supports production systems, as required, by optimizing performance, streamlining processes, helping resolve problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports. Provides quality review and participates in designing, coding, testing and implementing complex programs; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards. Interface with customers to determine requirements and problem resolution. Analyze and install updates, fixes and bundles. Customize vendor-delivered application code as required. Participate in the FIT/GAP analysis during system upgrade or implementation. Provide reports on project development status to project leads and leadership on a regular and timely basis. Enhance existing systems; participate in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews. Implementing/Supporting new modules as business requires.KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Business executives, managers and staff IT Shared Services (COO, CTO, CPO, CA) IT SubPortfolios and thin portfolios: HR, Finance, Corporate Service, Legal and Program Offices Outside vendorsBASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years in all phases of application software development/maintenance life cycles in a large mainframe or client server environment required. 3 years experience with developing enterprise business application utilizing tools such as Java, XML, Websphere, EJB, etc. 3 years development experience with Oracle database development/administration utilizing tools such as SQL Plus. 3 years programming experience in a structured SDLC environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to influence technology direction and decision-making process as well as delivery of expected results Demonstrated experience in successfully working multiple projects Experience in Messaging systems and Web Services technologies Experience in UNIX batch scripting Experience in developing, administering, and supporting electronic payment switch software.
