Project EngineerJob Code: GCSD03081008 Harris Corporation is serving as the systems integrator and provides overall program management for the U.S. Census Bureau's 5-year $600 million dollar Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) program. This critical program for the 2010 Census includes the design, development, testing and deployment of advanced, automated systems that will deliver near real-time data using an architecture with multiple and overlapping security features, including fingerprint authentication, password authentication, role-based access, automatic data encryption, firewalls, and virus protection Job Description: Perform Project Engineering for Government Communications System (GCS) program/pursuit activities. Efforts include project planning, cost/schedule control, EVMS, project execution. Task includes customer interfacing and participation in reviews, performance evaluations, and technical problem resolution. Position requires some travel. Lead the project activities of large teams of engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred with at least 12 years experience. PMP Certification is a plus. Experience: Project Engineering of the design and development of large systems involving communications, networks, displays, high reliability embedded software/firmware, etc. Skills include project engineering, technical writing, presentation and establishing and maintaining positive customer interfaces. Candidate must have strong experience with EVMS, MS Project, and daily program execution of large program teams. Requirements engineering, system architecture definition and system design are a plus.
