Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.Provide IGI&S support to HQDA that includes but not limited to providing recommendations on geospatial strategies, administering geospatial applications, developing long term initiatives and plans to enhance geospatial capabilities, developing draft documents and policies for staffing and coordination, assisting in the development of HQDA IGI&S requirements, and providing IGI&S technical expertise to HQDA staff.  Develop policy and guidance for implementation of the IGI&S program.  This requirement includes the developemnt of the IGI&S regulation, policies and guidance for vector and raster data collection and management, consolidation of systems, assist with completing staffing actions and taskers, and developing data call requirements.  Provide IGI&S program information to field offices.  This requirement includes the development and implementation of a communication and outreach program that supports all aspects of the Army IGI&S program.  Produce maps, both digital and hardcopy, in support of the Army IGI&S Program.  Provide expert advice on methods to improve the IGI&S program.  Coordinate with other DoD Service GIS programs.QualificationsBA/BS in Geography, Computer Science, Management Science, or related field.8 years with Information Technologies including 4 years with GIS. 2 Years of additional IT experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.• US Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance • Understanding of and experience implementing geospatial standards and directly related IT standards, including major standards organizations, current and near-future standards including but not limited to Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards, ISO standards (primarily the 19xxx series), Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards, and web services/service-oriented architecture (SOA) standards including Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), web service description language (WSDL), extensible markup language (XML) and related technologies/standards.• Logical database design and modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and related technologies• Geospatial program management and project management• Proven experience developing strategic plans and implementation plans for geospatial technologies• Experience designing and implementing large (enterprise) geospatial systems and capabilities, primarily – but not limited to – using Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) products.• Facilitation, moderation, and synthesis of multiple stakeholder community requirements.Preferred Qualifications:MS in Geography, Computer Science, Management Science, or related field8 years with Information Technologies including 4 years with GIS. 2 Years of additional IT experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.• Hands-on experience and/or strong understanding of ESRI products• Hands-on experience and/or strong fundamental understanding of Oracle products• Experience supporting geospatial technology programs and implementation within the U.S. Department of Defense, preferably at the major command or headquarters level.• Enterprise Architecture (EA) processes and development using DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), or other EA framework models.• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Strong leadership, coordination, and mentoring skills• Strong understanding of IT lifecycle management• Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture (EA) processes, dynamics, and value proposition• Understanding of the full software development cycleBenefits: Medical and Dental Plans Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Short Term and Long Term Disability Income 401(k) Plan with company match Employee Ownership Paid Time Off Program Flexible Work Scheduling Business Casual Dress Learning and Development Opportunities Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program Voluntary Auto and Homeowners InsuranceCompany Profile:Employee-owned CH2M HILL is a global leader in engineering, procurement, construction and operations for public and private clients.
