COMSYS is looking for a mid-level Project Manager for a contract position in Plano, TX.Eligibility requirements:- Candidate must be residing in the greater Dallas, TX area in order to be considered.- Candidate must first be screened by the contracting agency to confirm skillset match.- Candidate to report to the Plano, TX office.Contract duration: while we are only allowed to post this as a 6 month contract, the role is long-term with possible permanent conversion in the future. We plan to renew the contract every 6 months.Role: serve as a task-driven Project Manager for large development team in a due date driven IT environment. Team consists mostly of four teams of developers and business analysts working on integration and workflow automation development projects. SDLC experience is necessary. Telecom experience is a plus. PMP certification is not required, but is beneficial.Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a motivator, and be excellent at holding people accountable for their deliverables. Candidate will coordinate, document, and summarize meetings between our dev team and other dev teams.Expectations: Manages day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope. Maintains project statuses and schedules. Administers change requests in ClearQuest. Manages IT Work Requests for the team. Interacts with team members to monitor project progress and provide management with periodic statuses. Keeps tabs on deliverables expected from other teams. Ensures that pre-release deployment forms are filled out accurately. Prepares deployment reviews. Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions. Facilitates team and client meetings effectively. Holds regular status meetings with teams. Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Possesses general understanding in the areas of software development, database, and system design. Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures. Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change. Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members. Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
