Job ID: 106571Position Description: We are looking for a cutting edge talented project manager to work with a team of highly motivated and talented engineers. This individual will be responsible for working with our business partners and engineering staff to develop new products for highly scalable financial applications for the business to business market. Projects typically involve managing cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement products to be implemented in to our customer sites and projects to support financial/news websites. The project manager should be well versed with technical concepts, project management techniques, and departmental procedures. The project manager must be able to effectively manage communication across geographically dispersed locations and teams. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who has the ability to drive software project teams to successful and quality project completion in a very fast-paced environment. Success is measured by the delivery of high quality, high reliability deliverables that meet or exceed the needs of the audience.The ideal candidate will have worked with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and XP and worked with projects based on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Manage the complete project development life cycle.• Lead project team to work together and fulfill the requirements in the design, implementation, testing and release of software projects. • Create and manage project timelines, milestones and scope for assigned projects. • Manage client or stakeholder expectations through active management of scope, budget, change, issue and risk management for all assigned projects.• Ensure management and clients are provided with effective and accurate status reports. • Review, update and report project performance to management including resource constraints, conflicts, or concerns. • Manage multiple projects of various sizes simultaneously.• Some travel may be required.Position Requirements:JOB SPECIFICATIONS:• Strong, independent leader and decision maker with at least five years of experience in leading large, multidisciplinary software development teams to build applications or customize products as required. • Well versed in the fundamentals of project management (estimation, project planning, resource planning, issue management, risk management, change management, communication planning)• Understands the software development project lifecycle - especially knowledgeable in the areas of web site development and customization.• Has a high degree of technical understanding, is able to follow and participate in technical conversations. • Can breakdown technical projects into manageable work packages. • High degree of competence is required with Excel, Word, and MS Project.• Ability to identify risks and issues proactively, and drive creative solutions.• Leads one or more projects, which may involve multiple technical disciplines.• Strong understanding of a wide variety of traditional and emerging Internet technologies, environments, communications and web services including but not limited to ASP/JSP; JavaScript; VB Script; .NET; XHTML; SQL; Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). • Extremely professional communication and organizational skills. • Excellent management and negotiation skills.• A strong understanding of financial services and the financial markets is preferred.• Must have previous proven software project management experience.• Previous programming experience preferred.• PMP certification a plus. .
