Project Manager - Ancillary/Clinical Peri-Op

Yonkers, NY



Position Description:

The Product Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the installation, upgrade and support of ancillary clinical system. The product manager will interact with clinical departments, various groups within Emerging Health and analysts to discuss and clarify needs, set priorities, schedule work with analysts and vendors, including analysis, installation, testing, etc.Provide leadership to Ancillary initiatives to achieve successful and timely project implementations.

Defining and managing projects – task and resource determinations, budgets, schedules and project implementation plans – by effectively navigating and leveraging the Ancillary functional organization and matrix structure.

Work directly with the customer to define requirements, conduct high-level analyses and recommend new solutions for the implementation of clinical systems.

Analyze and define client hospital methodologies to identify how computerization will affect operating procedures.

Analyze user needs and requirements and determine the best solution for those needs.

Provide high-level, first hand knowledge and input to the design of the ancillary product.

Assist with workflow redesign and procedural changes.

Be the liaison between the hospital departments and Emerging Health groups.

Provide leadership to Ancillary Support staff to achieve successful and timely project implementations.

Write test plans and coordinate testing efforts.

Act as the leader of Ancillary rollout activities to patient care areas, including on-site clinician support, staff training, troubleshooting, and resolving system/workflow issues.

Coordinate, supervise and conduct training sessions for all levels of staff in the capabilities and uses of ancillary systems.

Writing user documents and maintaining a library of system documentation.

Recommend improvements and increase efficiency of the IT systems and users.

Assist with testing, installation, rollouts, configuration, training, etc. as needed to supplement analysts’ efforts.

Requirements:

BS/MS/MA in Information technology or the Health sciences.

Project Management training/certification a plus.

A forward thinker who easily crosses functional boundaries to ensure positive, enabling solutions.

Skill set must include: project planning, management and implementation skills; analytical skills for clinical/health care process workflows; liaison and client management skills.

Prior healthcare experiences in clinical systems a strong plus.

Working knowledge of clinical systems such as EMR, PACS, RIS a plus.

Demonstrated knowledge of project management and business tools such as Clarity, MS Project, MS Excel and others, as needed.

Recognizes, secures and evaluates relevant facts to reach sound concl usions and provide resolutions.

Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent follow up skills.

Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.

Understanding of DICOM, HL7, IHE, HIPAA and other health related standards a plus.

Team player; Self-directed; Multi-tasking ability; takes initiative; makes decisions; quick learner; thinks things through; collaborator; welcomes responsibility and accepts accountability.
