Project Manager – Core Business Services

 

EDMC is looking for a Project Manager of Core Business Services to drive delivery of multiple internal employee-facing technology projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  The Project Manager will lead all aspects of the project management and software development lifecycles to deliver high-quality products, services and solutions to EDMC employees.  The ideal candidate will have a proven project management track record with demonstrated experience in packaged software applications integration and implementation.  In addition, the candidate will serve as a key agent of change in leading and managing business process change within EDMC. 

KEY JOB ELEMENTS

 1. Scope, plan and manage business services projects, according to EDMC’s project management methodology, including development and management of project plans, budget, schedule, issues, risks and resources to set commitments and then execute to meet commitments.  Ensure alignment to both business and IT strategies. 

Key projects will include implementation of EDMC’s Corporate Intranet and IT Project and Portfolio Management applications.

2. Lead Business Services team through software development lifecycle (i.e. analysis, design, build/configure, test and deploy) to deliver solutions that satisfy business requirements, leverage EDMC’s core technologies and follow IT architecture standards. 

3. Manage business process change throughout project implementation and proactively develop and implement change management plans.

4. Prepare and conduct weekly project status updates to Project Sponsors, Business Owners, impacted IT Teams and IT PMO, which provide project progress and communicate decisions needed.

5. Coordinate work performed by outside vendors, contractors and consultants to reach project goals.

6. As a member of the IT PMO, contribute to further development of EDMC’s project and portfolio management methodologies.

7. Position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. 

 

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 1. B.S. in Computer Science.

2. Minimum of 7 years of IT software engineering and design experience.

3. 4+ years of proven project management experience in packaged applications integration and implementation.

4. Must an expert in MS Project and MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).

5. Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SharePoint, etc.) and Web Services technologies are required.  Experience with Planview project portfolio management application is preferred.

7. Excellent analytic, communication, organizational and relationship-building skills.  Must be able to effectively communicate and negotiate with Project Sponsors (at executive level) as well as with IT development team members.

8. Strong change management and team coordination skills.  Must be able to facilitate high-functioning teams across business and IT, be a collaborative team player and drive process change.

9. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
