Project Manager - P&C Insurance Administration Systems
JOB TITLE : Project Manager
LINE MANAGER : VP Professional Services
LOCATION : Innovation Group Office, Innovation Group Remote Location, Client Site
JOB PURPOSE
The successful candidate will manage project activities, in accordance with Customer Delivery Model, to meet or exceed project deliverables and milestones; on time and on budget. Manage project scope utilizing effective change management process. Effectively manage the financial performance of the engagement including the timely approval of hours and expenses, the timely review and approval of WIP reports enabling prompt billings to the customers. Maintain a focus on gross margin levels for the engagement. Identify and communicate potential opportunities for new and expanded services.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage the implementation of Innovation Group Policy/Claim/Conversion software, maintenance and ongoing business requirements for one or a number of Innovation Group Clients.
Work with Professional Services management and partners to ensure successful implementation of Innovation Group products.
Develop and maintain project plans that accurately reflect the timing & effort associated with the projects under the control of the Project Manager. This includes identification of project plan assumptions and dependencies. This may include sub-projects and the integration of development outside the Project Managers direct control.
Provide specific project related feedback to the program management office for team-mates working on projects under the control of the Project Manager at the conclusion of their assignment of the project.
Comply with Innovation Group’s processes & quality assurance - Responsible for ensuring that Innovation Group’s project methodology is followed and that all quality checkpoints are measured and reached.
Maintain timely and effective internal & external communications within the project. This could include internal reporting (within Innovation Group’s methodology and Project Delivery Model, Client reporting on the status of the project, ad hoc & informal reporting of lessons learned to the project team members etc.
Complete the agreed project deliverables in accordance with approved Project Plan and Budget.
Manage project related budget - Ensure that the project is run as cost efficiently as possible and that the project expenditure is tracked & reported against the agreed budget. This would also include taking “corrective” measures to bring project budgets back to the agreed tolerance.
Manage/operate to third party contracts - Responsible for ensuring Innovation Group’s contracted obligations are managed and represented if additional contracts (outside the direct control of the Project Manager) are in-force.
Identify and highlight opportunities for future revenue earnings - Responsible for working with the Client, third parties, partners etc. to identify additional revenue opportunities for Innovation Group outside of the original contract.
Balance Client project objectives with Innovation Group’s business objectives. - Responsible for maintaining a balance between the Client’s requirements and Innovation Group’s objectives of delivering an efficient software solution.
Develop orientation and teammate provisioning processes to support onsite teammates. This includes resource accommodations and expenses policies.
Provide onsite teammates with the appropriate support systems to assist with personal issues if they arise while participating on the project.
May be asked to be a Career Development Manager. The CDM is responsible for advising, mentoring and helping with career planning for each of their team members. This process will involve the following:
· Agreeing on expectations that tie in with Innovation Group, NA Insurance Sector and project team objectives of company
· Holding performance reviews (at a minimum annually)
· Recommending compensation changes to Executive Management
· Developing a career development plan
· Identifying training needs· Tracking progress with team members
EDUCATIONAL/TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· BA/BS degree in Computer Science, systems development or commensurate Project Management experience.
· Strong Project Management skills and demonstrated experience managing to milestones and delivery dates is essential.
· Five or more years of Insurance Industry related experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to interact with all levels of Client and Innovation Group management.
· Ability to lead, motivate and direct Innovation Group teammates.
· Ability to provide meaningful solutions to complex business issues both internally and to Innovation Group Clients.
· Must demonstrate solid management skills related to program management tasks (requirement gathering, system architecture review, issue resolution, etc).
· Ability to create and lead a team in all activities related to developing and delivering solutions that align with the business requirements.
· Create open environment conducive to freely sharing information and ideas.
· Demonstrated ability in planning and deploying product implementations and enhancements through application of formal project controls.
· Demonstrated ability to direct project activities, ensuring customer satisfaction with service and project delivery.
· Hands on and results oriented approach.
· Able to resolve complex business application problems.
· Consulting practice organization and methodology.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This is a client facing position and regular travel to client sites will be required. The ideal candidate for this new staff addition will be based in Cleveland, OH as significant work is planned for this area.
