An independent self-starter with strong MS Project skills who enjoys excelling in a high performance team environment. Essential Job Functions Conducts assessments and evaluations of project performance through the independent analysis and interpretation of objective and subjective evidence including project status reports, quality assurance and configuration management audit results, and through direction discussion with project team members. Conducts formal and informal project reviews to identify, document, and report on root causes of project variances. Analyzes variances and recommends appropriate corrective actions to project management. Tracks corrective actions and exercises judgment in determining matters of significance to escalate to management. Prepares and presents project performance reports for appropriate levels of management. Analyzes and validates project estimates using various techniques. Approves all project estimates prior to release to internal and external approvers. Develops function point counts for work efforts planned and completed. Assists project managers in the development and maintenance of project schedules. Develops and leads training on the tools and techniques of project scheduling. ResponsiblitiesOwn and manage multiple project schedules which are critical to the program's overall success; these schedules must be resource loaded and built/managed in MS ProjectDevelop strong working relationships with the Project Managers to ensure the program schedules are accurate, aligned and on track at all phases throughout the program lifecycle This contract requires U.S. Citizenship Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, computer science or related field preferred Seven or more years of experience in quality assurance, engineering or management information systems Experience working with standard software development methodology assessments, such as SEI/CMM or ISO 9000 Experience working with software development methodologies such as Catalyst or ASAP Experience working with project management methodology such as Catalyst including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting knowledge Experience working with project scheduling and the use of standardized scheduling tools such as MS-Project Experience working with project estimating tools and techniques U.S. Citizenship Other Qualifications Good organization and time management skills Good communication skills to interact with and persuade team members, customers, and support personnel Good analytical and problem solving skills Good interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills for interacting with project and task team members Good personal computer and business solutions software skills Ability to handle activities on multiple projects and tasks within the same or different accounts and switch amongst them quickly to meet prioritize business needs Ability to work independently Ability to work in a team environment, even when remote support is required Ability to deal with and manage change Good ability to analyze project metrics and identify performance trends Willingness to travel The perfect candicate will have:Advanced MS Project 2003 or above skills Experience in importing and exporting data in/out of MS ProjectSchedule resource loading/ allocation and critical path analysis experience.
