Job Category:Project Analyst Consultant Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FALLS CHURCHSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:Regular Yes, 100 % of the Time Job Posting: 04/04/2008Description: Essential Job Functions Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Own and manage multiple project schedules which are critical to the program's overall success; these schedules must be resource loaded and built/managed in MS Project Develop strong working relationships with the Project Managers to ensure the program schedules are accurate, aligned and on track at all phases throughout the program lifecycle Workshop with project teams to assist with the maintenance of the project schedules including resource tracking Build and maintain relationships with the Program Management Office Ensure deadlines are met and priorities are set with regards to the project schedules, milestones and deliverables Work with project managers to maintain and update Master Program Schedule on a weekly basis Communicate program/project status via weekly reporting; facilitate weekly program status meetings with project managers and key stakeholders Proactively identify, track and work with project managers to resolve potential scheduling issues and risks Understand and apply all aspects of sophisticated scheduling including predecessors, successors, links, baselines, etc Review project milestones in conjunction with the project scope and identify any anomalies or inconsistencies Identify the impact on dependencies, resources, and other program level issues when changes are implemented Manage the inter-program and cross-program dependencies Provide training to staff personnel as necessary to facilitate the use and application of MS Project, for example training a backup scheduler Ability to coordinate with program management to integrate multiple project schedules into an overall Master Program Schedule Advanced MS Project 2003 or above skills - Project 2007 preferred Experience in importing and exporting data in/out of MS Project Schedule resource loading/ allocation and critical path analysis experience Change control experience in working with multiple project schedule baselines Full software development lifecycle implementation exposure Minimum of 3 years experience in a Project/Program Office Must have worked on large scale/complex programs with ownership of schedule development and management. Effective research, analytical and problem solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak effectively in a professional group environment Three (3) years of demonstrated experience managing an MS Project master schedule in excess of 2,000 lines for a complex engineering development program Creation of project reports for meetings and presentations Bachelor's or equivalent experience needed in Business or Project Management Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
