QA Lead

Position Summary

This role will  provide testing and quality assurance services to the software development team.  This person will play a key role in leading the team using a hands on approach.

 

 

Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop, publish, and implement quality control schedules, test plans, test suites, and automated scriptsManage the assignments of quality control analystsCoordinate with development team to perform positive, negative, unit, functional, regression and integration testingValidate and track testing results, report discrepancies, and participate in resolution of defects Define and track quality control metrics such as defect densities, defect classification, and open defect countsWork closely with business end users and development team in enforcing quality control, processes, and standardsFacilitate beta and user acceptance testingContribute to the creation and implantation of “Best Practice” Software and quality control processesParticipate in planning and coordination of software builds and releases to test environment and production environmentEvaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategiesWork with software developers, customer service, and project team to provide process training and to ensure versioning and other SCM practices are followed for application configuration items, components, and artifactsPlan, control, and execute the flow of software builds/releases through development, testing, and production environmentsNegotiate with other project personnel for timely and thorough identification and migration of project risks and constraintsOther duties as assigned

 

Experience EducationBS in Computer ScienceAt least five years experience performing quality control and implementing quality control processes2-3 years of successfully leading others in a QA role

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge, AbilitiesExpert knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)Expert knowledge of multi methodologies including Waterfall, RAD, Spiral, Extreme Programming, and AgileKnowledge of Microsoft VSS, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.Net, and IIS Web applicationProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookLeadership aptitudeSupervisory experience applicable to managing the assignments of quality control analystsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOrganizational and facilitation skillsDetail orientedAbility to work with variety of end users
