QA Manager - Hosting Operation

This position is located in Alpharetta, GA. This is a hands-on engineering role leading a team of engineers during quality testing of integrated service offerings in Nokia Hosting Operations.

As a Hosting Operations Quality Assurance Manager, you will support, maintain, and help improve the infrastructure that delivers new solutions to production operations. You will work with operations team members, including system engineers and consultants. This is an opportunity to have a wide variety of tasks and contribute to the success of our new service within the wireless carrier marketplace.

The Hosting Operations QA Manager will:
• Ensure systems are prepared to run effectively and meet 5 9’s (99.999%) uptime availability requirement.
• Manage, enhance, and customize predictive analysis tools in support of operational metrics and objectives.
• Develop software scripts, reports, and project plans to assist in managing the testing environment.
• Perform, document, test and benchmark modifications for new systems and new testing standards.
• Continuously optimize testing, workflow, and operational policies and procedures.
• Provide after hours on-call support on a rotating basis with other staff members to ensure a 24x7 Carrier Class service operation.

In addition, the QA Manager will:
• Document status and deliverables related to implementation of new services
• Coordinate with related customer-facing and development groups to avoid and solve issues
• Manage tasks, schedule, and workflow for the team
• Participate in planning meetings and interact with product development


Competencies and Skills:
• Management of testing documentation including test cases, test plans, and tracking result statistics
• Mercury testing tools
• Organizational skills within complex and changing environment
• SNMP, both device and agent side expertise.
• SQL and/or Perl scripting skill.
• General knowledge of RDBMS, triggers, stored procedures, basic DBA activities
• Windows Server 200x networking and administration
• Linux/UNIX/Solaris networking and administration
• E-mail systems and protocols (POP, SMTP, IMAP)
• Network infrastructure design, installation, troubleshooting
• Large scale deployment, monitoring, administration, troubleshooting
• Storage systems
• Scripting (Perl, ASP, JSP, etc.)
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Strong analytical/problem solving
• Excellent communication both verbal and written

Desirable background and technologies:
• Database administration knowledge: Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Sybase ASA
• Mail server administration: MS Exchange, Lotus Domino, SendMail
• Web server administration (IIS, Apache)
• BS in Computer Science (or, equivalent professional experience)
• Project leadership training, experience, or certification
