Quality Assurance/IT Portfolio Manager
SAIC's Homeland Security Solutions Division currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance Analyst/IT Portfolio Manager. JOB DESCRIPTION: Scope: Quality Assurance Analyst/IT Portfolio Manager needed to manage 10-20 concurrent software development projects for government client. Candidate will serve as the major point of contact throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and will act as liaison between project teams, requirements analysts, design and development teams, functional and performance test teams, release management, and production support teams. Candidate will coordinate the efforts of peers across the entire SDLC spectrum to ensure that IT projects meet standards for architecture, security, and performance. Responsibilities will include planning, managing, coordinating and executing end-to-end development lifecycles and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts to assess project team requirements, design, and test documentation. Facilitate/Participate in software development life cycle milestone reviews. Develop milestone review summary reports summarizing the review and outstanding issues. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 8+ years related experience - with minimum 5 years experience in one or more of the SDLC disciplines. 14 years of professional experience with minimum 8 years related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Exposure to computer-based applications similar to those required for this position: advanced set-up and configuration troubleshooting system design. Proficiency in computer applications languages technologies and/or capabilities required for this position. Required Skills: • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Tools • Applied knowledge and experience with Software Development Methodologies/Processes • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills • Conversant in all aspects of the Software Development, and expert in as many as possible • At least conversant in IT technologies across several platforms (Web, Client/Server, Mainframe, DBA, etc.) • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or software development related technical field or equivalent practical experience US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required. Candidates must have solid knowledge of the entire SDLC process and the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and must be able to interact with business system owners, IT Project managers, and other team leads on a peer-to-peer level. Experience as a lead in several SDLC disciplines (systems assurance, requirements analysis, system design, system development, system test, production support) is a plus, as is experience in multiple platform environments; a strong process improvement background, and excellence in technical writing and editing.
