Job Category:Quality Sr Professional Primary Location:USA-MA: MASSACHUSETTS-CAMBRIDGESchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:Regular No Job Posting: 04/01/2008Description: Transportation Solutions Business Area, Volpe National Transportation Systems Center - Seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist, must possess CMMI, SEI, ISO 9001-2000, Six Sigma experience - Convenient RED LINE location, Cambridge, MAEssential Job Functions CSC, in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems center is responsible for providing quality assurance and software process improvement support for theCenter. Must have the ability to operate independently, establish schedules and coordinate activities for a quality assurance tasks in accordance with CMMI, ISO 9001-2000 and the FAA iCMM. Responsible for performing, administering or advising on work concerned with the assurance of quality of products developed and/or utilized by various organizations within the center. Develop plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product quality throughout various program's life cycles. Monitor operations to prevent the production of defects and to verify adherence to quality plans and requirements. Identify, analyze and investigate adverse quality trends or conditions and initiate corrective/preventative action and root cause analysis. Create and implement QA project definitions and schedules. Coordinate and gain concurrence and approval from internal and external stakeholders and senior management. Provide on-going reviews of QA project status and identify possible project risks. Recommend risk mitigation solutions and implements approved solutions as appropriate. Work with management team to recommend possible changes as needed.US Citizenship or Permanent Resident, and must be clearable for position of Public Trust.Work Location: Cambridge, MA Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, computer science, or related field preferred Four or more years of quality assurance, engineering or management information systems experience Experience working with quality metrics and software industry metric data collection and analysis techniques Experience working with quality assurance principles and practices and software development methodologies such as Catalyst Experience working with standard software development methodology assessments, such as SEI/CMM or ISO 9000 Experience working with project management methodology Experience working with software test science and tools Other Qualifications Five plus years experience in any combination of the following areas: Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, CMMI or ISO 9001-2000. Proven able to multi-task in a team environment. Must have experience writing and maintaining processes based on CMMI goals and practices, tailored for the environment. Must report on CMMI process area implementation status and performance to management. Ensuring that Volpe National Transportation Systems Center programs utilize the appropriate processes and procedures based divisional policies. Ability to work with VPs/Directors/PMs/TMs to manage process and QA duties for multiple projects at a time.
