Regional Sales and Operations Manager -Structured Cabling, Mid-Atlantic Region

Position: Manages sales, pricing, design, procurement, deployment and contract closure efforts of AT&T cabling system solutions for the mid-Atlantic region.  The position will support the AT&T Federal Sales group, Federal prime contractors, enterprise customers in the region, and the local government, education, and medical markets.  System components of proposed solutions may include inside voice/data wiring, copper and fiber backbone cabling, customer-owned OSP (buried, underground, or aerial), telecommunications room build-out, data center build-out, cable pathway support structures (duct-banks, manholes, conduit), multi-zone paging, access control and surveillance systems.  This job is measured and awarded incentives based on an individual sales quota and held accountable for achieving an operations revenue and profitability objective. Qualifications: Strong structured cabling, equipment, and networking background required.  One of the following is required: PE, RCDD or PMP Record of success in sales, profitability, and customer service for federal customers and prime contractors History of project management and estimating experience Strong business background with degree required.  Advanced degree in business or engineering preferred. Familiar with competitive landscape, with a preference for a person who has been in the local market for 5+ years. Deep understanding of defense contractors preferred Relationships with local suppliers and partners Knowledge of major local construction project activity and the range of sales channels availablePrefer licensing and certification in a portfolio of security product offerings Candidate will be CommScope certified (if not already certified as a designer or installer) The candidate will be capable of designing and developing large BOM schedulesExperienced in responding to large, complex RFPs Experienced in adhering to federal acquisition regulationsLocation: based out of an AT&T sales office in either Virginia (Herndon, Vienna, or Oakton) or Maryland (Greenbelt, Linthicum, or Annapolis). Compensation: $90K to $100K base salary, with $15K to $40K in annual performance bonuses based on profitability and other metrics.  Bonuses calculated and paid on a quarterly basis, per the company’s policies (refer to the employee handbook for details).
