Contacts outside market research vendors and gathers information from associations, publishers, federal government agencies and other corporate/academic institutions to ensure information is current and accurate. Evaluates costs, justifies, recommends and implements new products, services and/or resources to meet company marketing objectives. Conducts internal and external research for client engagements, new business and proposal development and practice development, presentations, papers, etc. Performs in-depth analysis, integration of point of views and develops conclusion in support of research. Provides ongoing monitoring of competitors, industry events and technologies. Promote the use and understanding of the Research Network and the capabilities of the department throughout the companyBasic Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Master's degree in library science, information science, communications, general business or related field preferred Ten or more years of research or librarian experience Member in good standing with SLA, SCIP or other Information Professional Association a plus Experience working with company used database and statistical software Experience working with research methodologies Experience working with the technology industry Experience working with business and industry resources Other Qualifications Personal computer and business solutions software skills Customer Focused Proficient in Microsoft Office products Strong oral and written communication skills Interpersonal skills to gather information and to communicate with employees Organization skills to balance and prioritize work Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong business research skills using such sources as Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Dialog, Investext, major market research vendors (Gartner, IDC, Forrester), the internet and other business databases.
