JOB SUMMARY:
Serve as the senior carrier management and contract resource.
Serves as the focal point of all company efforts to keep carrier costs down and carrier relationships productive, and all contracts
documented, enforced, and audited.
Serves as the carrier and contract management conscience of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain plan for every company carrier project and initiative, with singular focus of lowering overall carrier costs every quarter:
1) Plan and manage all carrier orders including additions/modifications/porting/cancellations to DID's, circuits, colocations, etc.
2) Manage inbound inventory, carrier contracts, carrier contacts and processes, carrier POP addresses and circuit information (in "Master POP and Circuit List" spreadsheet)
3) Plans and manages all carrier partner relationships, negotiating carrier prices, including contract negotiations, carrier portfolio integration, and senior level relationship management
4) Manages sales requests, schedules and plans projects with carriers and partners; communicates with company Team by maintaining Carrier Relations intranet page
5) Meets with Carriers and partners frequently to manage company relations and provide Carriers and partners with any updated information
6) Coordinates with NOC on trouble tickets involving carriers by providing information and expediting trouble tickets.
7) Investigates and resolves down-time of carrier or partner-related issues. (60%)
OBJECTIVE:
1. Lower average quarterly carrier cost percentage by one percentage point each quarter
2. Capacity Utilization Analysis conducted quarterly commencing by end of Q2
2. Develop, implement, and maintain plan for every contract with singular focus of accuracy in contract entry, provisioning, and billing to customers that is consistent with their contracts:
1) Develop and implement a contract approval process by which every contract is written and approved using company proposal process and within guidelines of the pricing process
2) Develop and implement a contract entry and implementation process by which every contract is entered and implemented to insure managing expectation and capturing the intent of both the company and customer
3) Develop and implement a contract auditing process by which every customer contract in the top 100 are audited annually and all new contracts are audited every six months to insure compliance with contract terms
4) Develop and implement a contract renewal process by which contract renewal dates are monitored and all new contracts are audited (40%)
OBJECTIVE:
1. 25 additional contracts audited every quarter, through first 100 by year end
2. All new contracts are added to audit process and audited after first six months
3. All customers with outstanding balances are paid or collected from within 60 days or discovery of error
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year related degree required
- Knowledge of carrier relations tools, processes, and methodologies required
- Previous track record of impressive operational and carrier management objectives achievement, both as an individual and as the leader of an operational, partnering or contract management organization required
- Strong leadership and communications skills an absolute must
- Ability to work in a flexible and rapidly changing environment is indispensable
- Financial analysis skills highly desired
- Knowledge of IT and computer telephony markets highly desired
Desired Experience:
- 5 years previous experience in carrier management roles
- 4 years experience in IT industry or computer-telephony industry
- 4 years experience in contract management, 2 years leadership experience
Language skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and managers, clients, customers and general public
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, customer support software, and word processing software
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of customer support.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
