SAP Basis Administrator
Our client is currently seeking a SAP Basis Administrator to be responsible for the daily operational support of implemented SAP environments and interfaces. In addition, the Basis administrator will support ongoing project activities as assigned. The Basis Administrator is responsible for the life cycle management of the systems and for the planning and execution of installations, patches, and upgrades. Working closely with other team members to understand business IT requirements the Basis Administrator will contribute to the analysis and design of technical solutions that are in compliance with blueprints and business strategies. Responsibilities:The individual will perform Basis administration on three system landscapes: EAR (4.6c, remotely), CAN (4.6c, remotely) and global HCM (ECC, BI, EP, onsite). Configure/Monitor SAP hardware and tune server configurations for optimizing SAP performance and alert monitoring Manage SAP user access and security aspects/ SAP Authorizations Perform problem resolution with development team, apply SAP notes, support packs, software patches and fixes Provide system (Basis) support for the SAP systems including test, development, and production environments Provide answers to help desk questions regarding the SAP technical environment; troubleshoot problems with SAP modules Monitor SAP systems including middleware, all application logs, system logs and dataflow between SAP and interfaced systems Provide Systems Development group with expertise on SAP’s logical database configuration Perform database maintenance through SAP tools Accomplish monitoring and tuning of ABAP programs using standard system trace and SQL trace SAP batch administration Configure operation modes for job scheduling and workload balancing Diagnose and resolve issues related to interaction with operating system and application softwareRequirements: Minimum of four years direct experience administrating SAP R/3 / ECC applications (Basis >=4.6c for R/3, >= WAS 6.0 for ECC); direct experience administering SAP BW 3.0 or higher is highly desired; experience administering EP 6.0 and Netweaver (.xi/.pi) is desirable. 3-5 years Management/Administration SAP Basis Fundamental understanding of UNIX AIX OS and Oracle DB Platforms, Unix Scripting and Security 3-5 years Management/Administration SAP user security and authorization profiles Experience working with batch management/administration, job scheduling administration, system profile maintenance, coordinate backup/recovery activities 3-5 years experience with SAP HCM/PR Preferred experience with SAP Netweaver 2004 Must possess teamwork and interpersonal skills, which reflect the ability to effectively interact with multiple leadership levels and user groups Able to maintain stable performance and daily workload management under pressure Able to configure operation modes for job scheduling and workload balancing Ability to adapt to ever changing demands with diverse environment Some travel may be required to region and/or district locations BW experience is strongly desired. Minimum of one year direct experience administrating PI (process integration infrastructure) strongly desired. General application system management knowledge and experience on ABAP stack with exposure to J2EE stack in SAP systems. Operations expertise in SAP systems management, including distributed systems and middleware supported interface solutions Experience with the daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of a complex SAP environment. Correction and Transport System (TMS) / Solution Manager experience desired Implementation of SAP change control process & procedures Strong experience with SAP R/3 in NT and MsSQL and/or Oracle environment. Must have gained installation and administration experience on at least one implementation project and one full life cycle support setting Experience with SAP security administration. Ability to solve work related issues appropriately and in a timely fashion Affinity with SAP technical instance landscape design decisions Affinity with High Availability & Failover Affinity with Storage (direct attached or SAN) Affinity with Adobe and Active Directory preferable Formal project management and ITIL/ITSM training desirable.
