SAP MFG Functional Lead

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

We are migrating to global systems and services which will require changes in the IT Organization to deliver. Competency Centers for IT Services and Business Applications are being established, together with local IT teams structured to deliver services and local application support at the user interface. With defined Service level agreements (SLA´s).

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The MFG Functional Lead works closely with the Production department in providing functional, transactional and technical expertise. This position is competent to work under minimal supervision in the analysis, design, configuration, maintenance and support of Manufacturing business processes. The MFG Functional Lead supports the international business as needed, including resolving trouble tickets and completing requests on time and with high quality. This role improves business processes, develops best practice knowledge and supports the business in integrating this into the SAP solution.

Primary

o Responsible for corporate-wide performance improvement Manufacturing processes and champions global process consistency

o Works with business to define and prioritize enhancement requests

o Recommends and develops specifications for required development

o Designs Manufacturing processes leveraging internal and external best practices

o Performs fit/gap of Manufacturing business requirements against system functionality

o Configures SAP and related systems to perform as specified in the detailed design and configuration requirements, and in accordance with COE standards

o Tests configuration changes to ensure changes satisfy business requirements and do not introduce additional issues

o Provides deep technical configuration information to COE teams

o Defines test scenarios and scripts and executes unit / integration testing

o Resolves process issues; escalates issues requiring management attention

o Maintains business process and functional design documentation

o Assists in training other COE staff in system configuration

 

Secondary

o Proposes change request priority based on business needs

o Participates in setting and achieving process performance metrics

o Reviews process and policies for performance improvement opportunities

o Champions communication to user community on process changes

o Coordinates with training team to update training materials

o Collaborates with technical team to develop and implement changes

o Provides input to project planning and status reporting

o Identifies and escalates process issues
