Job Description

The programmer/analyst will work as part of a development-oriented team whose mission is to design, assess, and implement methods for measuring healthcare provider performance.  Work will include developing a system to produce claims-based metrics for measuring effective, high-quality, and efficient health care.  Rigorous programming testing methodologies will be required to test implementations.  Research will be required to support the analytical basis for pay-for-performance plans, and network and benefit design to influence effective health care delivery and consumption.

 

The programmer will have major responsibility for application level SAS and Oracle SQL coding.  S/he must demonstrate strong technical skills, including the ability to manipulate very large datasets. Expertise with SAS data step manipulation is essential.  The programmer/analyst conducts research to support business decisions and develops reports and presentations that clearly communicate both outcomes and implications of the analysis and provide recommendations for next steps.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant for both positions will be an experienced SAS programmer with technical expertise, especially in SAS data step processing, but also in statistical procedures.  The analyst should also have quantitative analytic skills (preferably using SAS) and a strong epidemiology, biostatistics and/or health services research background.  Other qualifications include:
