The candidate will launch, recover, perform routine maintenance, operate and navigate small water watercraft and associated equipment at near coastal waters in support of this contract. Applicant will use small watercraft to tow target craft and perform at sea salvage operations. Candidate will construct and maintain surface targets. The work site for this will be strictly San Clemente Island.Three years experience up to the level of Master aboard vessels operating under conditions requiring precise navigation, station keeping, close quarter maneuvering, and towing. Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service program or proven performance gained through experience in watercraft operation and seamanship is needed. Specific experience with both the international and U.S. inland rules of the road and experience with marine radio voice, VHF, and UHF communications procedures and practices is needed. Candidate will be proficient in written and verbal English language skills. Candidate must be able to stand, see, reach, balance 50 to 75 percent of the time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs 25 to 50 percent of the time. Candidate must be able to swim. Must be physically fit and capable of spending extensive hours at sea in all weather conditions. Knowledge of military operations is highly desirable.
