To learn more, visit http://www.lionbridge.com. Position Description This position requires an experienced SDET 2 who possesses excellent internal and external communication and client facing skills. This position will be onsite at the in Redmond, WA. The individual filling this role will need to have a strong software testing background as they will be responsible for writing test plans, designing automated test tools and test cases and evaluating defects reported by other Test Engineers. The SDET 2 is a key resource for implementing sound QA practices and testing methodologies. Additionally, the SDET 2 may need to train and mentor junior members on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities / Deliverables Includes, but is not limited to the following Work independently with minimal direct supervision. Contribute to, review, and edit test plans and test cases against all requirements; mentor others in writing, reviewing and revising test cases. Excellent spoken and written communication and documentation skills. Proactively contributes and drives new ideas for process and project improvements. Design, automate and maintain test cases and simple automation tools. Review and analyze defects reported by others to determine root cause Write, review and triage defects. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: The individual in this position may be required to occasionally oversee small teams of 1 to 2 SDETs, managing work assignments and deliverables on a daily basis under the supervision of a senior SDET or Lead.Technical Skills Candidates will possess the ability to create formal test plans, manual and automated test cases and other supporting technical documentation from Client-supplied specifications. Candidates must possess the ability to be a self starter with new software / products/ or systems with minimal direction. Candidates must also possess a fundamental understanding of software and hardware configurations and have a demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems and complex technical issues. Required Skills Familiarity with recent Microsoft Windows operating systems. Two years C# experience Two years .NET Framework experience Ablility to create and deploy new tools/utilities SQL and Transact SQL XML Network testing tools, specifically NetMon or other tools, such as Ethereal (must) Experience working at the protocol level (must)Desired Skills API automation testing skills Experience working in the Microsoft environment XSL (desired) and XSLT JavaScript, VBScript, PERL, Batch Familiarity with Microsoft test tools, such as Product Studio and WTT 3 years of SDET experience, primarily with C# Ability to evaluate and choose appropriate automated test tools Other Skills And Abilities Ability to clearly communicate/articulate complex technical concepts to Clients and/or employees of the organization. Ability to read, interpret, and write technical documents such as process descriptions, test plans, test cases, defects and reports (Daily, Weekly, Executive and/or Final). Ability to respond to technical inquiries and/or issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to isolate defects and give potential solutions for those defects. Ability to maintain flexibility to changing work demands. Must demonstrate ability to mentor and assist others. Must demonstrate a high level of accountability and personal responsibility. Education/Certification Required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Requires at least 3 years directly related SDET experience in the Quality Assurance/Testing field (using some programming language). Previous test/automation experience is a must.
