SENIOR NETWORK/SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Position Overview

The candidate selected for this position will be a main contributor to the development, engineering and administration of Enterprise System Management infrastructure, Network Operation/applications tools and vendor products.  Position reports to the Director of Information Systems.

Essential Job Functions

-Responsible for Design, Planning, Development, Implementation and Management of Windows NT and/or 2003 Domain Administration, Active Directory
-Microsoft MAIL Exchange 5.5/2003 and Fax Server Administration and Upgrades
-Symantec Security Gateway Administration and Upgrades
-Clearswift (Mimesweeper) for SMTP Adminstration and Upgrades
-Assist in establishing and maintaining standards, policies, configuaration guidelines and procedures for operation of Windows based Client-Server Open Systems
-Provide technical assistance and response to inquiries from internal departments and organizations; work with other analysts on issues relating to the client-server systems
-Assist in implementing improved methods and tools for the troubleshooting and research of problems
-Research, implement and administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and/or Network Attached Storage (NAS)
-Enterprise Backup/Recovery and Disaster Recovery Design, Planning, Project Management, Implementation and Administration using backup products such as Arcserve Brightstor, Backup Exec and Legato

Non-essential Job Functions

-Provide second tier support for Microsoft IIS related Web Products
-Assist in supporting Corporate and Call Center telephone network(s)
-Interface with external hardware vendors and service providers
-Product evaluation

Requirements

-BA/BS and relevant experience
-Expertise with Windows XP/2003 architecture, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP in the Enterprise Environment
-Familiarity with Windows security fundamentals (IPSEC)
-Experience customizing user environments (via GPO, login scripts, profiles)
-Expertise with Server, Desktop and Notebook hardware
-Familiarity with core networking protocols (i.e., TCP/IP, CIFS, DFS)
-Experience with issues surrounding configuration and support of mobile users (i.e., VPN, RAS, RSA SecurelD)
Experience with the following products/services desired: Tripwire, NetScreen Firewall, SecureWorks Log Management Service, Postini Spam/Content Management.
