Sharepoint Systems Engineer

Job Description
The Sharepoint Systems Engineer is a lead position responsible for maintenance and development of an Enterprise collaboration environment.  The engineer will be responsible for analyzing business unit requirements, designing solutions and ensuring successful project delivery and overall client satisfaction.  The developer will be heavily involved with workflow and documentation management through MOSS 2007, enabling partners and clients to easily share information.  In addition to development responsibilities, the developer will work with the Infrastructure Team on Microsoft infrastructure related projects.


Responsibilities

·  Architect, develop and deploy technical solutions to needs identified internally and by business units using Sharepoint and its related services

·  Understand and translate user interface and business requirements into implementation plan

·  Participate in design reviews with Business Analyst and Infrastructure to ensure the design will meet business requirements

·  Enable workflows through InfoPath, including surveys

·  Create custom Web parts for required site elements using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net

·  Create custom controls using ASP.NET

·  Create connections to systems to allow display KPIs and dashboards using Excel Services and SQL

·  Ensure and manage platform scalability

·  Train key stakeholders on updating content

·  Identify new content areas

Experience and Skills Requirements

 

·  Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

·  4 years experience with Sharepoint Portal Server 2003/2007 (Architecture, Planning, Designing, Developing, Testing & Installation)

·  Ability to develop web services (Surveys, Message Boards, Blog, Wiki, Forms, Workflows)

·  Ability to develop custom web parts for department news and announcement roll-up and rotation

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially in conjunction with Sharepoint interactivity

·  Ability to refine, create and manage search indices

·  Ability to create a secure portal for Extranet clients

·  Ability to restrict content via security and audience groups

·  Ability to use .Net, VB, ASP, WSS where applicable

·  Ability to create connections to external data sources (e.g., help desk ticketing system, knowledge base and CRM) using SQL and display information in a Web part using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net where applicable

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail
