SMS Service Tech II (Access Control)

We currently have an opening for a dynamic individual to join our team as a S-SMS Service Tech II (Access Control)

 

Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for service of all required systems with a heavy emphasis on electronic products. This position may also include the responsibility for training other installers, sales representatives, and customer service representatives on mechanical products.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Perform electronic (access control), Surveillance (CCTV) and basic mechanical (locksmith) product service as required (includes Best and Non-Best equipment) and in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications, company quality and productivity standards. This includes troubleshooting products.
2. Submit complete and accurate paperwork in a timely manner obtaining the proper signatures. Accurately record mileage figures, work orders, changes and codes. Properly identify warranties and provide accurate descriptions. All paperwork is to be completed neatly and legibly.
3. Strict adherence to procedures and policies as set forth by the company.
4. Maintain clean and safe work environment using the correct tools properly.
5. Responsible for maintaining accurate Van inventory.
6. Respond to customer technical inquiries for products to ensure customer confidence/satisfaction and provide customer education while at customer location.
7. Assist with Installation Projects as needed.
8. Responsible for troubleshooting, programming and configuration associated with industry software packages, operating systems and PC hardware.
9. Perform work according to the Field Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.
10. Ensure field changes are forwarded to the application engineering department so accurate as built documentation can be maintained.
11. 100% of time is field related.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Must have a strong background in Electronic Security Integration with 3 years industry experience.
• Mechanical lock experience (locksmith), detailed knowledge of BEST and BEST's products and services preferred
• Knowledge of industry standards BHMA, ASTM, DHI and UL.
• Ability to work beyond standard working hours, as well as, participate in an on-call schedule is required
• Strong customer service orientation required
• Ability to work beyond standard working hours, as well as, participate in an on-call schedule is required
• A valid state driver’s license, without restrictions, is required for this position
• Ability to work independently on customer site
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with the customer along with the ability to identify and satisfy customer needs
• Ability to meet deadlines and have strong time management and organizational skills
• Skills or experience with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills
• Strong emphasis on PC software/hardware including databases, operating systems and networking. A+, and/or Net+ Certifications preferred.
• Installation Tech 2 and Service Tech 1 skills required.

Education/Experience:
• High School graduate or equivalent
• 3 years Electronic Security Integration experience.
• Must be eligible to acquire local locksmith licensing (if applicable) / certification preferred
