SOA Program Manager

Job Summary

The SOA Program Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities of multiple organizations within The MathWorks to ensure that goals and objectives associated with implementation of the Service Oriented Architecture projects are accomplished. The SOA Program Manager brings a technical background, will earn credibility and trust with engineering management, can be both assertive and flexible and is willing to both address minute project details and maintain the big picture. Success in this position demands effective program management leadership that maintains our momentum in evolving an SOA enabled environment.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include:
• Project planning and tracking, risk identification and mitigation and the coordination of resources across multiple organizations within The MathWorks (MATLAB Development, IT, Business Applications).
• Establishing software development best practices and processes for an emerging cross organizational development team.


Qualifications

• BSCS or equivalent.
• 3-5 years relevant experience in software product development with demonstrated experience providing interdepartmental project management, from project startup through project delivery with strong abilities in relationship management.
• Experience in interacting with senior management on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
• Demonstrated experience with process reengineering.
• Ability to effectively problem-solve, collaborate, and influence are crucial.
• Experience in project analysis, risk management, and course correction.
• Proficient in the use of project management and scheduling techniques and tools. (PMP a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities with good time management.
• Experience with managing IT related projects a plus.
