For more information about MPS Group, please visit http://www.mpsgroup.com ***A major financial client of Modis’ is seeking a skilled SQL Analyst for a contract position. SQL Analyst - (contract)US Citizen/Green requiredChicago, IL (downtown) Duties:· There is a backlog of tickets in the Payment net and payment net 3 applications are coded in VB and .net for Payment Net and .NET for Payment net 3· Strong SQL experience and a background in VB is preferred. · Not going to be coding it’s more debugging and looking at the code and finding out where it’s broken· Need candidates that like to dig and find problems· Communication skills are imperative! They will be having lots of conversations with the team and when they review the code they aren’t going to know where they are so they will need to be able to ask VERY good and detailed questions!· Also need people that are good with issue resolution as the problem may not be within the code- could be a network or database issue.· You will be required to provide day to day production support of the in-house applications from a MS SQL perspective. · This demands intense troubleshooting/problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment. · SQL script writing will be required to mitigate issues resulting from data conditions and analysis of issue due to defects in stored procedures, views and functions.  Required Basic Qualifications: · SQL 2000· Very little admin work/ need a dev background/ not a DBA position but some experience here would help· Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. · Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. · Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standardsand procedures, access methods and time, validation checks, organization and statistical methods. Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery.
