SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Computer Resource Team is searching for a mid-level MS SQL Server Database Administrator.  This is a contract to hire position for a major client in Charlottesville, VA. The successful candidate should have experience in maintaining, administering and troubleshooting MS SQL Server in a high use, high uptime fast paced environment.

 

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years SQL Server DB Administration

• Experience in a high availability/high access environment

• Experience with maintenance plans, replication, DTS, DDL, and Procedural SQL required

• Willing to work occasional after hours on call duty

 

Position Responsibilities:

• Backup and recovery procedures.

• Database maintenance including index and file level defragmentation.

• Query optimization and tuning.

• Server tuning of the IO sub-system, memory and CPU usage.

• Maintaining and troubleshooting near real-time synchronization of redundant servers using Microsoft's replication technologies.

• User administration including security policies.

• Application installation and upgrades.

• Research into new database technologies. 

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and establishing maintenance and direction of the organization's database environments.
