SQL Server Deverloper/DBA

Description: We are currently looking for an experienced software database engineer to join our R&D group at our Boston Office location. The Engineer will work in a multi-tier environment focusing on backend database layer development for the care management application. We are looking for professionally-confident candidates who enjoy a fast-paced, creative environment using latest development technologies to leverage their mature experience, communication and team-work skills. Responsibilities: • Candidate should be able to transform marketing requirements into specifications; plan and develop the application line through its entire life-cycle. • Candidate must have prior experience designing and implementing advanced N-Tier database solutions designed for commercial use. • Web Services and .Net experience is a plus. • The candidate should be a strong team player with a natural aspiration for excellence. Requirements: • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or relevant equivalent • 5+ years experience working with SQL Server 2000/2005 • Data Modeling - experience designing logical and physical databases using industry standard tools such as ERwin. • Working with developers in web-based applications development • Unit testing and working closely with the QA team supporting system testing and bug resolution. • Writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and triggers for maximum performance and system throughput • Performance monitoring and tuning of data access and SQL Servers • Performing ad hoc queries for troubleshooting and/or data gathering • Knowledge of database architecture, both OLTP and data warehouses • Establishment and administration of database security • Implementation of ETL either in DTS or SSIS • Schema object management - experience with source control systems • Development and maintenance of standards • Excellent communication skills • A self-starter who consistently takes the initiative to resolve customer problems and assist other developers B.S.
