As part of the SALT team, the Manager will be responsible for providing and overseeing quality state and local tax services for the Firm's clients. Additional responsibilities include:
* Managing and driving the success of multiple engagements.
* Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
* Keeping lines of communication open with staff and clients.
* Ability to manage within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction.
* Anticipating and addressing client concerns and escalating problems as they arise.
* Initiating "cross selling" business to other practices.
* Promoting new ideas and business solutions that result in extended services to existing clients.
* Developing an understanding of client's business and becoming a "functional expert" in the area.
* Keeping abreast of changes in industry regulation, maintain competency through continuing education and obtaining additional professional certifications
* Providing appropriate and timely performance feedback to those supervised
Qualifications:
* Minimum of five years experience providing state and local tax consulting services, including experience with income franchise, sales/use tax, property tax and other state and local tax services in a public accounting or tax consulting firm.
* Experience selling professional services in a public accounting or tax consulting firm.
* Established record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships with small- to mid-sized, growing businesses.
* A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients.
* CPA or other sales/use tax (CMI) certification.
* A Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
* Ability to travel on a limited basis.
* Masters of Taxation or MBA preferred, but not required
