SYSTEM i DEVELOPER

The CMI Group has an opening in the Information Technology Department for a System i Developer.

This position provides consultative services to both internal and external customers concerning current system capabilities, enhancements, and problem resolution. The successful candidate will be responsible for the translation of business requirements into technology-based solutions and their coding. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the program and design, and up to date ILE skills.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Partnering with business functional areas to design and develop product and service offerings using best available software and hardware tools.

* Ensuring timely implementation within budget of products and services to support the division in meeting its financial objectives.

* Participating in creating an environment that maximizes the use of associates' knowledge, skills and abilities.

* Participating in program design by translating business requirements into high quality solutions. This includes the documentation of current data, programs and operating processes in the functional area.

 

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

* Minimum 3 years of ILE/RPG experience, with emphasis on modular program design.

* Strong experience with ILE development, service programs, and procedures.

* Experience with Web Services, API's, and UDF's preferred.

* AS400

* Experience creating applications using Visual Basic, ASP, PHP, or Python a strong plus.

* Experience with WDSC, Hawkeye, DBU, Sequel a strong plus.

* Project oriented

* Ability to work well under pressure

* Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

* Strong time management

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to occasionally work weekends and evenings to handle emergencies

* Willingness to leave the world of RPGIII behind!
