We are working with an intriguing young Web 2.0 Company in stealth mode that has built a B2C Web site that will change the way consumers will buy in this specific area.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will work closely with the software development team to deploy and ensure the smooth operation of production websites and the newsletter platform. The candidate will develop capacity planning of the systems and network infrastructure to scale with rapid growth. This person will also be responsible to automate builds and deployments of software and hardware through use of tools like Kickstart and RPM. The candidate will configure, maintain, and manage operation of all network hardware including firewalls, switches, routers and load balancers.
Required Skills and Experience:
3+ years of systems administration experience with Linux (preferably RHEL/CentOS) preferably in an environment supporting high traffic websites
Solid understanding of automated package and system deployment methods
Experience building and maintaining Apache, MySQL, and PHP installations
Solid understanding of e-mail server technologies
Strong understanding of Internet standards and protocols including DNS, SMTP, HTTP, DHCP
Solid scripting experience (shell, perl, etc)
BA/BS Degree preferred
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Familiarity with Zend Platform
Familiarity with Exim
Familiarity with Source Code Control Systems (Subversion, CVS, etc)
Familiarity with Nagios
Experience with performance tuning of systems and applications in a Linux environment
Familiarity with PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Java
