Job Overview:This position is based in the Sales Channels Solutions Delivery team within the Information Technology Department. This role requires a qualified, career-oriented individual. You will work on problems of diverse scope requiring both preparatory business and technical expertise. They must demonstrate good judgment in applying HDS standards and best practices. Solid communication skills are required. Taking the initiative to resolve issues and suggest adequate solutions is also required.The Senior Analyst Programmer also is responsible for translating business requirements into solutions, preparing technical specifications, encoding, testing, debugging and documenting software programs of high complexity following the predefined standards and best practices. The Senior Analyst Programmer must possess numerous advanced technical skills, including knowledge of multiple programming languages. As new technologies emerge and impact our systems, the Senior Analyst Programmer is expected to learn these technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our systems. They must ensure documentation is up-to-date and transitioning of new and existing applications to Operations and support personnel takes places smoothly.Following are some of the core required skills:' Technologies: J2EE Object Oriented Design and Development; Extranet and network security; Identity Management (SSO, federation etc); Portals; Model Driven Architectures (MDA); EAI technologies; Content Management Systems (such as Stellent); Knowledge Management Systems (Primus); Data warehouse; ETL; Reporting tools' Knowledge of Application Servers such as BEA Weblogic, SUN Java System Application Service' Required experience: At least 5 years experience building J2EE applications' Strong written and spoken communication skills' Experience with ANT, Apache Axis, XML, Struts' Proficiency in UML modeling techniques' Experience with JDBC, SQL, and RDBMS' Working knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory' Basic knowledge in all web areas (HTML, JavaScript, Cold fusion, UNIX Shell).Job Functions:' Collaborate with the business to ensure software and applications are meeting the needs of HDS employees and potentially external clients' Draft design documents for all new software applications' Document code consistently throughout the development and/or enhancement process' Maintain extensive documentation for all projects with relevant HDS resources' Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports' Review and repair legacy code' Design solutions based upon business requirements and user specification' Review technical solutions' Provide analytic and modeling skills' Provide 2nd tier technical support' Interface at a senior level with Business Analysts, Project Managers and other ITS groups during the design, development and testing processes' Respond promptly and professionally to resource requirements' Review, repair, enhance and develop code Primary Qualifications:' University Degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Systems.' 5+ years J2EE development experience.' Knowledge of SDLC lifecycle management and procedures, solid understanding of general business management' Knowledge of testing and QA processes, release management.' Good people skills, experience mentoring ITS professionals, reputation as an informal leader.' Understanding of project management principles.' Demonstrate leadership, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence other levels of management.' Good interpersonal skills.'
