Senior Business Objects Developer

Link Technology Group, a premier provider of e-business software and services, seeks a Senior Level Business Objects developer to work on contract for one of its Fortune 50 clients. The right resource will be well rounded in all aspects of the Business Intelligence continuum, from ETL and Multi-Dimensional design, through development, testing, implementation, and production support.

Duration - 6 mo to start. Potentially long-term.

Location - onsite in Westchester County New York. Please do not respond if you are not able to commute, or are unwilling to relocate. No relocation assistance is available for this engagement.

Overall Experience - 7 years minimum, with at least 2 years of production support experience

Technical Skills Business Objects - 4 yrs min  Dimensional Modeling and Data Analysis - 4 yrs minETL - Must have. Informatica is a plus.  RDBMS Experience - Must have. Good knowledge of SQL. Oracle and Teradata a plus.Unix - Must have Any scheduling application (Control-M, Autosys) experience - Nice to have Incident Management, Configuration Management - Must have


General Skills Extensive experience with Business Objects development and problem resolution. Architecture experience nice to have. Clear understanding of concepts and architecture associated with business intelligence/data warehousing Strong requirements gathering and testing planning/scenario creation/test case creation experience required Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly gain alignment on proposed solutions Strong communication and coordination, extensive business partner/end-user interaction Should have worked on a large team - need to have ability to quickly respond to requests, learn to navigate the organization, and have the capability to start operating independently in a short amount of time Multi-tasking, flexibility and adaptability, and ability to have and maintain a 'big picture' of the application at all times


Role and Responsibilities Support analytical and operational reports for a large production Data Warehouse and ODSDesign and develop new reports and reporting enhancements - Work with stakeholders to design appropriate BI dashboards, scorecards, charts graphs, drill-downs, and dynamic reports to meet information needs. Translate stakeholder deliverables into the various project methodology deliverables that make up design, such as functional specifications, use cases, work flow process diagrams, data flow data model diagrams. Participate in the creation of key performance indicators and the documentation of their supporting business requirements, data models, calculation rules and metadata. Assist in the development of logical and physical data models in support of Business Intelligence Data Warehouse requirements.
