Senior Consultant - MS Project Server

Our client located in Dublin, CA is seeking a Sr. Consltant for a 6 month plus contract.  Departmental Job Title: Microsoft Project Server 2007 Technical ConsultantDuration of Assignment: 6+ Months Target Start Date: Flexible. Travel: Rare, if ever – Domestic Timeline to Review Resumes: Right awayAs part of the Information Management Products team, this individual will be a team player in the delivery, support and reliable maintenance of Microsoft Project Server 2007 and the implementation of Portfolio Server. Responsibilities • Install/Configure distributed environments for Microsoft Project Server 2007 and WSS 3.0 • Perform routine monitoring of the various tiers ( web, application, database) of the MS Project Server and WSS software infrastructure to ensure high reliability • Perform backup and recovery of farm data (combined Project Server 2007 and WSS 3.0 data) to enable effective software testing • Perform comprehensive testing of MS Project Server 2007 and the related software upgrades • Administer Project Server 2007 • Perform WS 3.0 operations and application management • Work closely with customers to plan/coordinate/execute migration of Project Server 2003 data to Project Server 2007 • Troubleshoot Project Server 2007 and interface with Microsoft Premiere in escalating bugs/issues • Troubleshoot WSS 3.0 and interface with Microsoft Premiere in escalating bugs/issues • Develop best practices for the delivery and support of Project Server 2007 • Support both Project Professional 2007 and Project Web Access clients. • Diagnose and resolve installation and configuration issues, connectivity and authentication issues.Qualifications • Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft Enterprise Applications such as Project Server 2007 • Experience in delivering, administering and supporting Microsoft Project Server 2003 and Microsoft Project Server 2007 • Ability to set up test environments for MS Project Server 2003&2007 • Experience in migration of Project Server 2003 data to Project Server 2007 • Ability to administer and support Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 • Experience in at least one of SQL Server 2000/2005, t-SQL scripts and SQL Server Analysis Services. • Knowledge of Windows Server 2003 -- Active Directory, IIS and SMTP Server as related to Microsoft Project Server deployment and support • Experience in setting up web, application and database servers in a Windows Server 2003 environment • Working knowledge of basic project management concepts Job Reference Code: SRCONSULTANT Company: Modis, Inc.
