Purpose of Position:


ThruPoint Consultants focusing in the Security area, are responsible for building “trusted advisor” status with clients through a high-touch consultative approach by: 1) Demonstrating high-level technical capabilities in implementing ThruPoint solutions based upon project goals and deliverables; 2) Ensuring the highest degree of client/partner satisfaction; 3) Gaining in-depth knowledge of client's business requirements and technology infrastructure and identifying and recommending areas for improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

TechnicalImplements architected security infrastructure solutions. Displays understanding of complex, multi-platform information technology (IT) infrastructure operations, security processes and detection tools. Has experience utilizing various network, host and service discovery tools; vulnerability assessment tools Has the ability to translate organizational security policies into basic firewall security policies, tunnels, rules or access control lists Implements standard security policies firewalls on a firewall with oversight and daily support Implements basic VPN concentrator and terminators as well as a remote access client/partner. Configured pre-shared and IKE based VPN devices and client/partners Possesses basic understanding of key management practices and distribution Implements Remote Access, Site-to-Site and/or Extranet VPN devices Has a basic understanding of PKI Certificate Authority (CA), Registration Authority (RA) and Certificate Repository (x.500, Active Directory or LDAP) concepts in support of the following authentication and cryptography protocols: S/MIME, SSL, TLS, WTLS, SET and IPSEC VPNs Deploys basic authentication protocols including PAP, CHAP, Radius, and TACACS+ to provide password authentication for systems, network devices and users. Implements and tests solutions based on project scope and design/engineering specifications Tests, analyzes and evaluates new hardware, software and products to support client solution decision making process (ROI, TCO) Resolves issues proactively that arise during project implementations or during operational assignments

Qualifications: Education/Experience B.S./B.A. degree in technical, engineering or business/management discipline. Masters degree preferred. Successful candidates for this position have acquired and can demonstrate the requisite skills to successfully build “trusted advisor” status with clients/partners. Recent (Current to 1 year) hands on experience designing, implementation and attack/virus risk assessment of security policies. The ability to implement policy with current revisions of Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls is a critical requirement. 3 – 5 years overall professional experience in either a corporate IT infrastructure, professional services, or consulting organization. Demonstrates solid oral and written communication skills Demonstrates strong project management and organizational skills Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) preferred Financial Services experience is a plus
