Senior Database Administrator

The successful candidate must be a self starter, efficient, takesownership type of person with analytical skills and knowledge to assista fast-paced production environment.

Primary responsibility will be MS SQL Server databaseadministration and production support. This person will interact withmembers of the development team, development manager and executivemanagement team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for
ensuring the security and integrity of company databases

• Designs and implements efficient, scalable and high performing database
architecture

• Performs or affect the performance of all SQL server application
installations, application patches, and planned upgrades

• Recommends improvements to existing database infrastructure

• Formulates and implements backup procedures for all company databases

• Implement & maintain physical data model

• Database tuning and indexing

• Capacity planning

• Monitor DB performance metrics

• Monitor utilization of data by application

• Develop or install and configuration, monitoring and DB utility and management tools

• Implement and monitor security

• Serve as technical support for any database related performance or access
issue

Candidate must have:

• 3+ years of experience in administering, optimizing, and maintaining MS SQL
Server databases

• In-depth experience and understanding of database design, especially with
large scale OLTP environments

• Experience modeling database architectures given adequate business
requirements

• T-SQL coding experience on Microsoft SQL Server 2005

• Experience in optimizing and debugging stored procedures, views, indexes,
triggers, etc.

• Demonstrated skill of formulating best practice recommendations for database
operations, including backup strategy and data security

• Team player with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

• Degree in computer science, engineering or related area

Preferred skills:

• 5+ years of experience in administering, optimizing, and maintaining MS SQL
Server databases

• 1 year experience administering SQL Server 2005

• Data warehousing implementation and tuning

• Experience with DTS/SSIS packages and data exchange

• MCITP certification – DBA

• MCTS certification – SQL Server 2005

Please note that we are only interested in candidates that havebeen a full-time DBA for a minimum of 3 years with a preference of 5+.
