We currently have an immediate opening for a Senior Database Administrator.

 

The primary purpose of your position from the administrative side is to be responsible for managing Database server machines and configuring MS SQL Server on same, as well as, monitoring and optimizing performance of all database servers. The development part of the position will be responsible for the data model/schema of all in-house application, assisting with development of stored procedures, triggers, etc., and educating application developers re: SQL "best practices".

 

Day to day, this position will be responsible for:SQL Server installation & engine configuration SQL Server monitoring Backup scheduling & monitoring DR planning & testing Capacity planning Approving proposed data model/content changes & coordinates impact with all project teams Management of DB scripts in SourceSafe Deploying DB changes in coordination with project releases Definining & implementing data access & security in accordance with HIPAA regulations and in coordination with project teams Creating & maintaining DB documentation (ERDs, data dictionary...) Supporting DB configuration & data restoration needs of QA group Loading of 3rd party data sets

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 5 years plus MS SQL Server data modeling, schema design & deployment 3 years plus MS SQL Server administration in production environment 3 year plus Replication or Log Shipping Application development using ASP/VBScript, ASP.NET/C# or C++ Possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Must be knowledgeable of Internet and Microsoft Office Products. Strong organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required. Excellent organizational skills with an attention for detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
