Senior Engineer - Cross Platform Infrastructure

Summary

Create industry leading services across Television, Broadband, Voice and Wireless.  The Cross-platform Infrastructure comprises the services for Navigation, Entitlements and Personalization for the applications.

 

Major Duties

The candidate is expected to do many but not necessarily all of:Work as part of a project team including project managers, architects, designers and developers. Work cross-organizations with product, marketing, joint ventures, other engineering groups and vendors from product definition to deployment.Interpret requirements and architecture and assist third parties in developing solutions.From requirements, develop the detailed technical design of web services and databases. Develop scaling and performance models.Develop code from requirements and detailed technical design. The tools are J2EE, Java, and Oracle databasePrepare presentations and communicate with all levels inside company and with vendors.Estimate schedule, resource and budget.

EducationAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physical Sciences or equivalent.

 

Experience8+ years experience.Proven record as contributor in software design, development and deployment.Experience in systems including large systems with transactions, database and networks.  Knowledge of performance modeling and scaling.A number of, but not necessarily all of:  Database design, Web services, Java, Python, TCP/IP, VOD or Internet streaming, VoIP.
