Senior Engineer - Software Developer

COPAN Systems, Inc. has developed an enterprise level disk-based storage solution that can be used as a disk-based long-term data repository.

 

We are looking for a Senior Engineer in our Longmont location.

 

Position Summary:

We are looking for a software development engineer responsible for the development, validation and release of Storage Subsystem firmware in the area of high performance data caching and device driver.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Linux kernel development experience in support of Storage Subsystems is a must.

- The idea candidate will use his expertise in the area of problem analysis and code development to isolate and resolve both defect and performance issues.

- He/she is required to develop kernel level firmware and modify the LINUX kernel as needed to support the full firmware code stack.

- Knowledge of RAID firmware code stack is a must.

- Day to day software development in a LINUX Kernel environment primarily in C.

- Good knowledge of PERFORCE configuration management software.

 

Required Education, Experience and Abilities:

- BSEE or BSCE – MS is a plus

- 5+ years experience in Storage Subsystem development

- 2+ years of kernel development experience, and an additional 3+ years in caching & RAID firmware development experience

- Knowledge of storage protocols such as Small Computer Systems Interface (SCSI), Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), SATA* or Fibre Channel Experience doing embedded firmware development

 

Desired Characteristics:

- Be able to function in a small, high energized team of development engineer

- Must able to work in a multi tasking environment

- Solid technical understanding of storage subsystems

- Good work ethics, proactive in every aspect of the job
