Senior IT Director ,Global Content Data Management
Reports to the Vice President of Information Technology
The Senior Director of Global Content Data Management System (GCDM) has leadership responsibility for all GCDM applications/integration development and support and is responsible to maintain the overall relationship with business systems users. The individual is responsible for management of the planning, design, development, and implementation of GCDM applications and integration on a global basis.. The individual is also responsible for overseeing system operations to support ongoing system use on a global basis.
The individual leads the design of key components of the GCDM applications and integration. This involves supporting/facilitating users on a global basis. The ability to understand WMG**s strategy and business objectives and translate them into systems related projects/tasks that fulfill these objectives is paramount. The individual must have expertise in senior management communication/presentation, including expertise in presenting technical ideas, concepts, and issues (persuasively where necessary). The individual must also have the ability to work across organizational and geographic boundaries.
The individual is responsible for overall management of the work performance of resources, outsourced services and project delivery. This requires expertise with project methodologies, contract management, the ability to identify and implement process improvements, and the ability to coach/mentor staff. The position directs budget and service forecasts related to GCDM. The individual must have the ability to collaborate with other groups and services to meet client needs and facilitate non IT activities as appropriate.
General Job functions:
** Manage relationships with Key End User Business Executives
** Effectively and frequently communicate with domestic and international user base on development and support issues
** Manage multiple applications across a diverse organizational and global customer base
** Manage staff and outsourced services for application development and support. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the staff
** Lead application development efforts (including requirements gathering, prioritization, project management, and deployment)
** Prepare IT development and operations budgets and supporting rationale
** Participate in hardware/software upgrade decisions
** Oversee 24X7 support for all production processes/services and coverage
** Employ expertise in process design/improvement in support of systems management
** Lead issue identification and resolution process
** Lead diversified, cross-functional teams on projects/tasks
** Use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, MS Project) and similar software to effectively perform job responsibilities
** Define team roles and responsibilities and set team objectives.
** Develop and enforce adherence to IT principles and best business practices.
** Establish procedures for maintaining high standards and availability of all applications
** Assist team members and service providers as needed in projects
** Assure adequate training of staff and that a functional mentoring process is in place.
** Selection of tools for designing and coding.
** Remaining current in the field of database technology and aware of new developments
** Periodic travel for business purposes, as required
Skills Required:
Management Skills:
** Project management
- Expertise leading global projects, including developing work plans, meeting deadlines, budgets and schedules (able to manage teams of 8-20+ persons)
- Ability to manage ongoing global projects, systems, and user base
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including requirements gathering and analysis, task estimates and work plans, and functional design and analysis)
- Ability to manage application development, enhancements, and support in a large/complex environment, including outsourced services

- Ability to manage staff and contracted services in coordinated manner to achieve support and project requirements

Technical Skills:
** Expertise in ecommerce, new media, and digital music production and distribution process
** Good working knowledge of financial reporting process
** Good understanding of IT department processes (production control and production support)
** Good understanding of system development methodologies and lifecycles
** Good knowledge of Version Control Systems
** Expert communication skills (includes written program documentation as well as documenting process flows & data flow diagrams)
** Ability to implement medium to large projects
** Ability to lead teams of 20+ developers and/or consultants
** Ability to mentor development staff
** Good understanding of software change management processes
** Expertise in organizational/strategic change management methodologies
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree from four year college or university in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Administration, or Computer Information Systems; or 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience
Necessary Experience:
** Ten years of project management experience including budgeting, planning and maintaining contracts
** 5-6 years of progressive hands on experience in full IT system life cycle.
** Working knowledge of Web-based application development for Enterprise/Business domain - CRM, PDM, SRM, ERP etc. using Java/J2EE technologies, DHTML and javascript
** Some working knowledge of UI Frameworks such as JSF or Struts,Component libraries such as Trinidad, ADF or Tomahawk,J2EE Application Servers - JBoss, Weblogic etc, Hibernate O-R mapping, Oracle Relational Database, reporting tools, SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL or database-specific equivalent.
