Senior Network Engineer
Sterling, VA
Description:
Senior Network Engineer assigned to Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to be responsible for configuration, installation, troubleshooting and management of the following devices at the DEAnet NOC located at the IT Center in Sterling, VA:
* Windows Servers
* Unix Servers
* DNS Servers
* Web Servers
* Mail Servers and associated systems
* Firewalls
* Routers
* Encryption and other networked devices
Candidate will be tasked with:
* Maintaining user accounts
* Providing User Support
* Providing Configuration Management
* Ensuring continuous network availability
* Maintaining fully operational systems through current updates with an emphasis on security and performance
Travel – 10% - 25%. Some time at DEA offices Lorton, VA required.
Required Experience:
Five years systems /network engineering experience. Hands-on experience in setting up Windows and Linux Servers. This experience includes building and configuring servers, network/communication devices and associated systems, creating and maintaining user accounts, determining appropriate user privileges, installing software and providing user support and trouble-shooting of system errors. Prior experience in documenting standard system configurations, Standard Operating Procedures and providing security updates. Must understand Service Level Agreements, be able to troubleshoot network outages, maintain high availability and an acceptable level of service.
Desired Experience:
*Motorola and/or M/A-COM RF systems
*Bridges, e.g., MOTOBRIDGE(tm) IP Interoperable Solution
*Interoperability between disparate radio products
*Key management, e.g., Motorola KMF or M/A-COM KMK
*Remedy Help Desk application
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering or Computer Science
Additional:
Due to the nature of work performed in our facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Candidate must be eligible for Interim Secret clearance or possess active Secret clearance or better. Must also be eligible for DEA clearance.
