Senior Network Engineer - Cisco

Job Responsibilities:

 

§ Design, install and support networks for clients in the tri-state metropolitan area.

§ Ensure client environments are operational and available on a 24/7 basis.

§ Document client network systems, configurations, and operational instructions.

§ Develop a Scope of Work and Bill of Materials for recommending new & upgraded software/hardware solutions.

 

Servers: Microsoft Server NT/2000/2003 and Linux

Networks: Cisco networking, security and wireless products.

Software: Cisco IOS, Microsoft Server and Exchange, Back Exec, Rightfax, Unitrends, Webtrends, Websense, SMTP.

Certifications: CCDA, CCNP, MSCE

 

 

Skill Requirements:

 

§ A minimum of 5 years related experience.

§ Extensive knowledge in Cisco LAN’s, WAN’s, and network security solutions is required.

§ Wireless LAN experience is a plus.

§ Cisco IOS experience required.

§ Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Solutions.

§ Expertise in Windows hardware/software troubleshooting techniques and enterprise infrastructure support.

§ Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience.

§ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

§ Client oriented and service minded.

§ Excellent problem solving skills.

§ Team player, collaborative personality.

§ Good project management and time management skills.

§ Self starter.

§ Overall working knowledge of system architecture, redundancy and fault tolerance, databases, personal computer hardware, local area networks, wireless networking, SAN’s, IP Voice Solutions, and cabling topologies.

§ Should have the ability to work independently, establish priorities, and work during unusual hours.
