We are seeking a 10 + year professional with 5+ years experience in designing Oracle database systems. This person will have experience designing high availability OLAP and OLTP database systems on an enterprise level(several terabytes). Will have experience in database modeling and design and be familiar with very large data warehouses. Exposure to SQL Server and Postgre is also desired. This person will have the ability to mentor and train junior staff and be familiar with PL/SQL, SQL, tuning and database administration. Any exposure to Oracle spatial is highly preferred.

Duties:

* Identifies decision support requirements by researching and analyzing user needs; studying business processes.

* Plans data architecture solutions by designing architectural scheme, information structure and features, functionality, and user-interface design; creating user scenarios; preparing and evaluating logical and physical models; designing information structure, work-and dataflow, and navigation; evaluating information representation; evaluating decision support tools and software.

* Organizes information by developing data dictionary and metadata structures; recommending changes in databases and data warehouses; translating user behavior into media structure and elements; preparing paper and interactive prototypes and mockups including layouts and navigational elements; producing workflow diagrams, user scenarios, and flowcharts; preparing interaction specifications, navigation rules, organization of information, and site maps.

* Implements information architecture by crafting interactive experiences; defining, communicating, and enforcing corporate decision support policies, procedures, and standards; maintaining data dictionaries and metadata structures; developing reporting tools; building information security protections; documenting structure and processes.

* Validates information delivery by developing and completing usability test plans; evaluating traffic patterns; studying user feedback; coordinating with Usability Specialists.

* Updates job knowledge by tracking research regarding web design and usability; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
