Senior Oracle Database Administrator

EMS Technologies, Inc. is a leading innovator in advanced wireless and satellite communications.  Our focus is on the needs of mobile information users - communications on the move.  We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) position to support existing Oracle based applications and have the following responsibilities: 

 



· 6+ years Oracle Database Administrator experience

· Desired experience with Oracle 11i Applications

o  Financials, Manufacturing and Supply Chain a plus

· 3+ years front line support experience for databases working with Oracle Metalink

· Proven experience with PL/SQL development and optimization

· Proven experience with the creation and support of PL/SQL Procedures

· Oracle Certifications for the 8i or higher database is a plus

· Knowledge of Oracle 7.3, 9i, 8I & 10g (ideal)

· Tuning and troubleshooting Oracle instances

· Installation experience for the Oracle applications/database on UNIX/Linux and Windows  environments

· Experience configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments

· UNIX/LINUX system administration knowledge is preferred

o  Knowledge of HP UX, Tru 64 and Red Hat a plus

· Ability to use UNIX tools such as vi and Shell scripting

· Working knowledge of multiple backup/recovery methodologies

o  RMAN

o  Restore/Refresh from archive logs

o  Cloning of environment

o  Importing/exporting

· Implementation and support knowledge of Oracle RAC

· Working knowledge of Quest support tools

o  Toad or SQL Navigator

· Knowledge of Microsoft IIS is preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003

· Ability to communicate with management

· This is an independent position requires excellent organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task

· Must be a team player 

· College degree
