Senior Performance Engineer

Position Summary: GoDaddy.com is seeking highly motivated individuals to join their fast growing Capacity and Performance Engineering team.  The Senior Performance Engineer will help create a team that will develop and execute all processes, procedures, methods, and models to ensure that GoDaddy.com’s computing resources perform effectively at a minimum of cost. Duties/ Responsibilities: · Analyze the performance of all key components of the GoDaddy infrastructure (e.g. database, storage, network, data centers, servers, and applications)· Lead performance troubleshooting efforts with our Operations (level 1)and Engineering (level 2) teams to restore service· Assist the Problem Management team with determining root cause of performance problems and necessary remediation· Work with Application Development teams to baseline performance, identify performance enhancements, and model performance based on expected infrastructure and user parameters prior to implementation· Direct the load test and application testing teams on performance testing scenarios and desired outputs· Consult with the Engineering teams on network, server, and end-to-end simulations to evaluate infrastructure designs prior to implementation· Help define and implement the requisite tools to achieve the team’s objectives· Assist in setting team goals and prioritizing work· Produce regular status reports and updates for management reporting Job Requirements: · BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience· Experience with modeling and experiment design including feedback analysis, model validation and improvement· Working knowledge of network and server technology implementation and/or administration including routing and switching, and Windows and Linux operating systems on Intel platforms· Demonstrated capability of software development and scripting· Understanding of data base and storage technologies· Experience with OPNET ACE, Network Planner and/or System Planner products· Excellent written and verbal communication skills   Additional Skills (not required): · CCNP, MCSE, or [linux?] a plus· Open source, MySQL, MSSQL, NetQoS NetVoyant, CA eHealth, Peakflow X and SP, and Opsware NAS tools a plus We offer a competitive salary + bonus, 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage, three weeks of paid vacation plus two paid personal days available in your first year of employment, an exceptional  401(k) package, and a generous educational assistance program, among numerous other benefits.GoDaddy.com is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer! Click on the following link to apply: https://www.hirebridge.com/application/appchoice.asp?jid=59645 Click Here To Email This job To A Friend
